MEDIA RELEASE - Announcing Story Time on Little Rockers Radio

Little Rockers Radio and The Five Mile Press announce Story Time partnership that will allow children Australia wide to enjoy stories read by their Australian authors.

Launching with The Great and Wondrous Storyteller by Michael Scott Parkinson on Monday 17th August, each week will feature a beautiful children's book read on air at 11am and 5pm (AEST) daily as well as online interviews, book reviews, giveaways and more.

Most books included within Story Time on Little Rockers Radio are written by Australian authors and showcase the breadth of talent of these writers. "
The Five Mile Press is committed to promoting local authors and illustrators and this is a wonderful way of connecting authors directly with their audience,” said Publisher and Acting Managing Director of The Five Mile Press Kay Scarlett.

"I have wanted to launch Story Time for a while now and am delighted to be able to launch in conjunction with The Five Mile Press," said Sarah Morrissey, founder Little Rockers Radio.

"Many people ask how stories can work on radio, but children have such wonderful imaginations. As long as the audio is captivating enough their imaginations will take care of the rest. We are already proving that radio for children is a great avenue not just for music but for yoga and meditation, and now Story Time. There really are no boundaries when it comes to children and their imaginations. Removing the screen definitely helps them to explore the sounds!" said Sarah.

The stories you can hear in upcoming weeks include The Great and Wondrous Storyteller by Michael Scott Parkinson, Family is like a Cake by Shona Innes (and the entire BIG HUG series), Fly-In Fly-Out Dad by Sally Murphy and Once a Creepy Crocodile by Peter Taylor.
