Developing through PLAY

Interview & Giveaway

Little Rockers Radio caught up with Tanya from Baby Hints & Tips to ask about developing through play and the different ways PLAY helps our children to develop and grow.

Take a listen here:

Through play children develop social skills, learn how to share, develop language skills, develop fine and gross motor skills, learn cause and effect, learn about colours and so, so, so much more. We think of play as just that, PLAY, however as Tanya points out in this interview, there are a few different types of play including exploratory play, functional play, constructive play and pretend play.

I am also a big believer in letting our children get bored and the growing body of evidence suggests this is good for helping children develop problem solving skills, how to settle themselves, be calm and use their imagination. You can find out much more about play over at Baby Hints & Tips PLAY.
