Readiness to introduce solids. The Signs:

  • Your child is at or around 6-months of age

  • You want their tongue thrust reflex to have disappeared

  • You want children to be able to grasp food, to grab it and move it towards their mouth.

  • Children are beginning to make chewing movements - many parents mistake this as being hungry, that’s not necessarily true, they’re just mimicking

  • You want your child to be sitting up with little to no support and to have a straight spine
